Stem Cell Therapeutics expands patent portfolio

Biotechnology company Stem Cell Therapeutics Corp (CVE:SSS) reported Thursday that both the U.S. and Japan patent offices have granted the company patents for drugs used to treat stroke and multiple sclerosis.

Stroke
A stroke is an interruption of the blood supply to any part of the brain. A stroke is sometimes called a "brain attack."

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system).
